Aeonis is built for authentic expression and meaningful connection. These guidelines define what's welcome on our platform and what isn't. Every user is expected to follow these guidelines — violations may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent bans.
Everything on Aeonis is guided by three principles: be authentic, be respectful, and be safe. If you're ever unsure whether something is appropriate, ask yourself whether it aligns with these values.
We use a combination of automated systems and human review to enforce these guidelines. Automated filters scan content at upload for potential violations (e.g., CSAM detection, spam). Reports from users are reviewed by our Trust & Safety team. We aim to review all reports within 24 hours, with urgent safety issues (child safety, imminent threats) prioritized for immediate action. We cooperate with NCMEC and law enforcement on child exploitation material. We use PhotoDNA and similar hashing technology to detect known child sexual abuse material.
Do not post content that threatens, promotes, or glorifies violence against individuals or groups. This includes threats of physical harm, instructions for violence, and content celebrating violent acts.
Content that attacks, demeans, or incites hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious medical condition is strictly prohibited.
Any content that sexually exploits or endangers minors will result in immediate and permanent ban. We report all such content to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement.
Content that promotes, supports, or represents terrorist organizations or extremist groups is not permitted.
Do not target individuals with repeated unwanted contact, intimidation, doxxing (sharing private information), or coordinated campaigns of abuse. This includes sexual harassment in any form.
Sexually explicit content and unsolicited nudity are not allowed. Exceptions may apply for educational, artistic, or health-related contexts with appropriate content warnings.
Do not deliberately spread false information that could cause real-world harm, including health misinformation, election interference, or fabricated emergency situations.
Automated posting, fake engagement, deceptive links, phishing, and manipulation of platform features to artificially boost visibility are prohibited.
Do not post content that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights of others.
Content that promotes, facilitates, or depicts illegal activities including drug sales, fraud, or other criminal conduct is not permitted.
Content that promotes, encourages, or provides instructions for self-harm or suicide is not allowed. We may provide crisis resources to users who may be in distress.
Share your genuine thoughts, experiences, and creativity. Aeonis thrives when people are real.
Disagree respectfully. Challenge ideas, not people. Good-faith conversations make the community stronger.
If you see content that violates these guidelines, report it. You can report any post, comment, or account directly through the App. Reports are reviewed promptly and kept confidential.
You can block or mute any user at any time through their profile. Blocked users cannot view your content or contact you.
We take a graduated approach to enforcement based on the severity of the violation:
| Action | When Applied |
|---|---|
| Content removal | Content that violates guidelines |
| Warning | First-time or minor violations |
| Temporary suspension | Repeated violations or serious offenses |
| Permanent ban | Zero-tolerance violations, or continued offenses after suspension |
We reserve the right to take action at any level depending on severity. Zero-tolerance violations result in immediate permanent ban without prior warning.
When we remove content, we will notify you with the specific guideline that was violated and instructions on how to appeal. Content under active review may be temporarily hidden.
If you believe your content was removed or your account was actioned in error, you may appeal by contacting [email protected]. We aim to review appeals within 7 business days.
Appeals are reviewed by a member of our Trust & Safety team who was not involved in the original decision. If your appeal is successful, your content will be restored and any account restrictions will be lifted. If you disagree with the appeal outcome, EU residents may submit a complaint to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
We are committed to transparency in our content moderation practices. We publish periodic transparency reports detailing the volume of reports received, actions taken, and trends we observe.
For users in the European Union, we comply with the Digital Services Act (DSA). You have the right to receive a clear explanation when your content is removed or your account is restricted. You may challenge content moderation decisions through our appeals process or through an out-of-court dispute settlement body. Our designated point of contact for DSA matters is: [email protected]
